In recognition of their work on the advisory committee to the Commissioner for Children and Young People, sixteen MRSHS students were invited to Perth to meet with His Excellency, the Honourable Chis Dawson APM, Governor of Western Australia. On the 30th of November, students first met at the Commissioner’s Office before participating in a tour of Parliament House.  While at Parliament they met the Honourable Sue Ellery MLC, Minister for Education, and also Jane Kelsbie MLA, Member for Warren-Blackwood.  Helping to organise the tour was former MRSHS student Tabitha Dowding, who works for Ms Kelsbie. A reception was then held at Government House with a speech from the Governor and students individually recognised for their efforts on the advisory committee.  Students then enjoyed afternoon tea and informal conversation with the Governor and students from Penrhos College, who were also part of the advisory group.
