Braden Warnke
Braden has continued to take on leadership roles within the school and community and is very respected by his peers. He has received acclaim for his willingness to complete any task, big or small. His leadership on our school farm through Rural Operations and within the school wine grape picking and processing has resulted in TAFE lecturers commenting about his attitude, work ethic and positive approach to all tasks. Endeavour Award
Louise Dumpleton
The Endeavour Award goes to a student who aims for the highest standards, who builds on their strengths and develops strategies to eliminate weaknesses. Louise has demonstrated exceptional attitude and effort across all of her courses in Year 12 and the results reflect this effort. She has worked extremely hard to complete her Certificate II in Rural Operations in one year and has completed four successful work placements in diverse Industries. Congratulations, Louise!

The Encouragement Award is given in order to inspire and motivate a young person, giving them the courage and confidence to continue along their chosen path. Darcey has been recognised by her teachers as always giving her best and striving for excellence. Mikayla Forrest
This award is given to a student who is already showing a career pathway with the Health Industries. She has completed her Certificate III in Community Service and is working through her Certificate IV in Prep-Nursing leading to a career in Nursing. Megan’s’ drive and clear focus has made her a dedicated, hard -working and organised student who is intrinsically motivated. Kathleen Fabre
This student has blossomed this year in a leadership role and has worked endlessly for her peers, the school and community. Kathleen has received acclaim for her willingness to assist with fundraising events and giving up her time for the good of the school community. She has shown tireless engagement at school and has helped organise a number of Year 12 events. Margaret River Senior High School congratulates Kathleen on being our 2016 Citizen of the Year.
Community Service Award
Clare Lagan
Clare has been heavily involved in a number of areas at school her leadership skills are highly evident in every task she completes. At school she has been on the Student Council and a member of the social justice group. Out of school she has been involved with various activities including clean up Australia Day and revegetating dunes. Clare visited East Timor in 2010 to help her family set up what is now the ‘alternative leaver’s week’. She is returning to East Timor in 2016 with Rotary and Lions. Clare is a very worthy winner of the Community Service Award.
Best All Rounder Award
Cohen McCashney
The Best All Rounder Award recognises a student who contributes and achieves at a high level over a range of areas including Academic, Sporting, Leadership and Service. This year’s recipient displays outstanding effort and application to his studies and has balanced this with elite level sporting commitments. He has worked strongly throughout the year and has an estimated ATAR of 97. As a role model for other students, Cohen has been involved in a variety of school based activities and does so with enthusiasm and vigour. Over the years at Margaret River Senior High School he has represented the school and actively supported school fundraisers, sporting teams and social events. Congratulations, Cohen!

Callum Noone
This student has a proud community service history at Margaret River Senior High School. From the podium at year assemblies to co-chairing Student Council meetings he has always given one hundred percent. Callum has been an inspiration to his peers, helping to organise events, speaking on behalf of the school, chairing assemblies and supporting students and teachers in making this school a friendly and welcoming place. The school is very proud of Callum, this year’s recipient of the 2016 Long Tan Student Leadership Award.

The recipient of the 2016 School Board Award at Margaret River Senior High School is a staff member who has dedicated many quality years to our school. This year’s winner has performed a significant role at the school, with their work on display on a daily basis.
She brings to the school, not only the wisdom and knowledge required of a teacher, but also a personal touch that makes a significant difference to the perspective of staff and students. Her happy nature makes her approachable and available to help staff and students. She is a “Go to person”. She works with technicians and staff in ensuring the school is up to date with the latest technology. She is an ‘ideas’ person who is incredibly creative and makes things happen. The library has become a vibrant place where people enjoy working and visiting. Being generous with her time, she integrates new technology, keeps the school up to date and readily assists staff with the sharing of her knowledge.
