Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from MRSHS were invited to attend the NAIDOC Week Careers Expo and Basketball Carnival at Busselton SHS. This annual event is organised and run by the BSHS Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers, Gwen and Lizzie, and is a celebration of culture whilst providing opportunities for young people to explore employment opportunities with local employees and organisations. The day also incorporates a basketball tournament, this year seeing 10 high schools coming together to battle it out on the courts. Last year, MRSHS won the Senior Division and this year, we won the overall tournament. We couldn’t be prouder of our students who represented our school and would also like to thank Wendy Coffey for running the excursion. Thank you to BSHS for hosting us, we look forward to defending the title next year!
