Margaret River SHS student councillors represented the school community at the 2022 ANZAC Day services in Margaret River and Augusta. The Margaret River commemorative march started at 11:45 and involved the MRSHS Emergency Cadet unit and student council. The head students, Maddy Sherlock and Sienna Dodd, laid the wreath on behalf of the school community, watched by fellow councillors Jack Holzer, Mia Helenius, Luca Juniper and Henry Thierfelder. The school’s cadet unit was the flag orderlies and presented very well in the new blue uniforms.

The Augusta community commented positively about the involvement of Margaret River SHS student councillors in their service. Senior councillor Abbey Galvin and Year 10 councillor Will Dallimore laid the wreath, watched by fellow councillors Allie Halden, Kit, Chayse Howitt, and Eleanor Taylor. The school is very grateful to Lisa Sims and her co-workers at the Augusta Hospital for making a beautiful wreath for the school and Cathy Howitt for taking photos. The community hopes that the high school continues to be represented at future Augusta ceremonies.

The school’s ANZAC Day assembly had to be cancelled due to CoViD. In response, the senior student council put together a video that was broadcasted into all classrooms. The link to the video is https://1drv.ms/v/s!AuMd_nVaQVa4ibx8sMK9Hce_uFoW_g?e=AOTzER
