The Australian Junior Surfing Titles in Phillip Island finished on Sunday the 3rd of December 2023 with some outstanding results from our students.

Willow Hardy won the U18 women’s individual Australian Title, earning a spot on the Australian Junior team to compete at the world titles next year. This is a massive achievement for Willow and something she has been training hard a long time for. Look out WSL! Not only did she win this she also paired with Ruby Berry to win the MR shield (2 surfers from the same school) Australian title!

Macklin Flynn also shone bright with a second in the individual Australian titles. Like Willow, Macklin has spent many hours training for this event and this result is testament to his ability and dedication. Macklin also paired with Cruz Sheridan to get 2nd in the MR shield Australian titles.

Other excellent results included:

Kaleisha Launders and Willow Hines – 2nd in the Allstars (2 students from the same state) U19 Womens division

Maverick Wilson and Okie Fraser – 1st in the Allstars U16 boys division

Fynn and Reef Lange – 2nd in the U16 boys MR Shield

Olive Hardy and Mia Jacobs – 2nd in the U16 girls MR Shield

To sum up, in the school’s division we had 1 x first and 3 x seconds out of 4 x divisions. Combine that with a win in the allstars, a second in the individual U18 men and an Aussie title for the U18 women. Our students dominated the pinnacle of Australian Junior Surfing.
