On Friday the 28th of October our Year 7, 8 and 9 Dance troupes performed as finalists in the Youth on Health grand finals at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.
After an exhausting day of travel and rehearsals our dancers did an amazing job. They entertained a full audience of students and supporters from all over the state.
Making it into the finals was a first for our school – and, although we did not win, we had a lot to celebrate. We were some of the youngest dancers to perform on the night AND we were the only school to have 2 dance items make the finals. Many proud parents came all the way to Mandurah to support us. Others were there to meet the buses that brought us all back to Margaret River tired but very happy to have performed so well in such a beautiful space. It was an honour to be included among finalist schools from all over the state!
Credit goes to the dedication and talent of Chanel Livesey who has worked so hard to build our Dance program this year! Thanks also to Amy Johnstone who has supported YOH Fest all the way. Our students are so lucky to have talented staff leading wonderful opportunities like this one.
