In an excellent show Margaret River SHS took out wins in both the Open Male A division and the Open Female B division at the WA Volleyball Schools cup running on 23rd-24th August 2019.
The girls were in the Open B Division – a competition for Year 12 teams and the girls with three Year 10s, four Year 11s and only two Year 12s.
They won all games in the qualifying rounds taking 9 out of the possible 9 sets and finished top of their pool, finishing in top spot on Saturday.
The boys were competing in the Open A grade with four Year 11s and four Year 12s and finished 2nd in their pool for finals – then winning the shield on Saturday.
Players from both teams have been training all year round, put a huge number of hours in (mostly early morning ) and thoroughly deserve all the success they are experiencing.
Congratulations to the Girls team consisting of Arabelle Gibson, Kelsea Towndrow, Chelsea Kawiti, Kate Long, Mia Dronow, Tess Hopkins, Serena Davies and Lindsey Reed with coach Stuart Kupfer-hollis and to the Boys team consisting of Jack McFerran, Arian Wilson, Griffin Keen, Fynn Boylan, Robert Wilson, Samuel Robins, William Matthews and Isaac Cranfield with coach Nakita Kitson.
A very special thanks to the wonderful Stu and Nakita who have been coaching all year (and last) to produce such results and to the efforts of all involved.
