Margaret River students’ success recognised
Margaret River Senior High School students Ella Campbell and Regan Weightman have been playing the role of quiet achievers, keeping their recent successes in adventuring and horse riding under wraps until now.
Ella, year 11, was nominated to attend a 12-day Outward Bound course sponsored by Lions Club in Walpole.
The course was designed to challenge about 13 students from the state and build their confidence.
“I think it should be an opportunity for everyone,” Ella said.
Fellow year 11 student Regan Weightman’s achievements have been in horse riding, something she has been doing since the age of seven.
Competing in dressage and showman disciplines at the National Interschool State Championships in Perth, Regan came seventh overall in her elementary and novice classes.
