2022 South West Indigenous NAIDOC Basketball & Expo Event was held in Busselton on Tuesday 23rd August 2022. The boys had been training after school on Wednesday’s and playing against the MRSHS Country Week Boys on Thursday’s at lunchtime throughout the term. The lunchtime sessions were enjoyed by student and staff spectators.
On the day, Margaret River Senior High School boys won all their games with the following scores of 7- 33, 7-32, 16-23, showing their skills and talent. The MRSHS boys were named the 2022 Senior Team Champions and presented with a golden basketball. Best player for the day was awarded to Team Captain Amahre Malcolm, he was presented with a sports bag.
The Expo – All students rotated through several stations throughout the day, the students were engaged and appreciated the guide and support. Students discussed their interests with staff at the individual stands and were provided with pamphlets and career opportunities.
